FIADHAICH TD

Backcountry Campers – Camping trailers for adventures FIADHAICH TD

From £6,995.00

The FIADHAICH TD is built for adventure. We have kept things simple, robust and practical. If you want TVs, music systems, ovens and microwaves, you can buy a caravan. “Fiadhaich” means wild in Scottish Gaelic and “TD” stands for “Thar-dùthcha” which means cross country.

The camper can be towed by any vehicle which is rated for an unbraked 750kg trailer. If you have a family, our camping trailers provide a base from which to cook and relax and then sleep the night away in a cosy environment. Have a look at our Advice page for more information.

The FIADHAICH TD is slightly bigger than a standard teardrop or squaredrop as these are based on a standard sheet of ply which is 2440mm x 1220mm. Our camper, the body, is 3000mm x 1500mm. These dimensions don’t include the mudguards or “tongue”/drawbar. The slightly larger size means you get more length & width inside for sleeping and more storage both in the cabin and rear storage area. This in turn makes your life easier as you can take more with you and there is more space to cook. If you add an awning or tarp onto the side, you have a nice covered area which definitely will not get blown away on the west coast of Scotland in a wild storm (sarcasm alert! It will if you don’t tie it down!).

Space for two to sleep and relax

There is a roof vent to keep the air inside fresh. We find that there is no need for a heater due to the relatively small space and insulated walls. If you need to increase the ventilation, you can open the roof vent to let more air in.

Aluminium composite skin

Aluminium composite skin. The walls are made from an aluminium composite material which is 3mm thick. Behind that, working inwards, there is 25mm of insulation and then 6mm ply followed by the internal carpeting. This system helps keen the weight down, heat in and does not require maintenance.
